Over the weekend I watched 4 movies which involve musketeers (including the new version of The Three Musketeers which has a very thin veneer of steampunk—one of the few truly enjoyable things in an otherwise horrible script). momebie and I have an opinion about whose musketeer is everyone's favorite. So, now we're curious.

This morning I watched a YouTube video in which someone said that Goblet of Fire was their favorite Harry Potter book and it got me thinking—I tend to hear people say that their favorite Harry Potter book is either Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, or Order of the Phoenix. This thought of course led me to wonder if I'm only hearing that because those are my top three, or if people generally prefer the three middle books of the series. Therefore, poll time!

It has been pointed out to me on occasion that I am somewhat of a fandom pusher. So, you all now have a chance to speak out and say, "Em Got Me Into Fandom and All I Got Was a Lousy Obsession."

I'd just like to preface this by saying that the influences and fandoms I selected are ways that I believe I have encouraged friends to get into fandoms, and fandoms that I believe I have pushed on people. Yay! My thing that I can't talk about because I'm buying it for dragonbetween and technically is a Christmas gift for me arrived! And it's awesome (because I'm a nerd)! Yay!

This is the second Christmas gift I've bought for myself on behalf of lord_varos. I'd also like to point out that I'm the one storing these gifts because McKay is concerned that he'll forget where he put them. *sigh* I will at least make him wrap them . . . though, given that he enjoys wrapping presents in electrical tape or making me go on scavenger hunts for them perhaps I would be better off wrapping them myself.

In my part of the world, today is that wonderful day of the year when DST ends and time "falls back." This day is like a personal holiday, a day I always allow myself to goof off and chill out, fully taking advantage of the one day of the year that literally has 25 hours. (We shall not speak of that day in the Spring when I have to give back my coveted hour.)

Today I was up at 7:00, a little groggy but awake enough to squint at the television and by the time I was done with Supernatural, I was ready to dive into fanfic, fandom essays, and scads of doujin. Tonight I'm looking forward to more Fullmetal Alchemist, more fanfic, and who knows what will become of my extra hour? Time: tonight I am her master.

So, in honor of this blessed day (and to make this poll accessible even for those who do not conform to the rigors of DST), I ask: Given an extra hour, what would you do with your hour?

1. Paul McGillion is a natural healer.

2. One of Paul's Healing Hugs can be negated by hugging another actor.

3. Firefly is not a fandom for Healing Hugs.

4. Chris Judge does not have the Healing Hug gift.

5. If you get too many hugs, you get swimmer's ear.

I didn't get sick.
