Fandom Grammar has always existed as a resource not only for fan writers, but for writers in general and for fans who have English as a second language. If you have a question about the English language—or colloquial differences in regional uses—please feel free to ask about it! We're always looking for new questions to answer. We're also open to fandom-specific questions such as capitalization rules for specific fandoms or how fandom-specific words are used in context. (Don't worry if we don't know your fandom, most of the grammarians are research monkeys and we're up to the challenge.)
Our typical schedule includes answering questions on Mondays, interspersed with additional content on Fridays.
I'm excited for our future on DW. We're approaching 10 years of Fandom Grammar, so we're looking to make a new home and build a foundation to last another 10 years.

GetYourWordsOut: Year Nine!
Pledges & Requirements | GYWO.net
GYWO is a community dedicated to helping you build a writing life. The idea was based around encouraging writers to write every month instead of just in a push for NaNo, a Big Bang, or some other event/story call. GYWO has grown to include more support for writers though challenges, prompts, and word wars, and through being a forum where writers can discuss problems and roadblocks or celebrate a success.
If you want to strengthen your dedication to writing, you should sign up. Whether or not you meet the writing goal is irrelevant as long as you are writing. I missed my goal 4 years running, but I was writing! Even during life trauma and depression, GYWO kept me writing something and it's made it easier to get back on track.
GYWO has a presence on Livejournal, Dreamwidth, Twitter, and Tumblr, so we're pretty much everywhere you want to be on the internet.
Sign-ups are open now through January 15. Look over the membership requirements and then follow the directions to leave your pledge and request membership. If you have any general questions, you can ask them at the linked post, but I'm also happy to discuss personal concerns here.
Please let your writer friends know about the community!
Look at the other people on my flist who have already signed up!

Don't you want to have fun with us???
Okay, in all seriousness: GYWO isn't nearly as high stress as people make it out to be. Yes, writing to a word-count goal can be stressful, but you'll have 200 other people supporting you in your writing, encouraging you to sit down and write, and celebrating with you when you do write. There will be posts all year about the writing process and craft, advice from people who've been there, and opportunities to just get your writing troubles off your chest! We have word wars that are available to members only, a private chat, and prompts and challenges over the year. Also: If you don't make your writing goal, it's okay! The important thing is that you made progress—any progress—and we'll be here to help you make it.
Won't you join me? Sign-ups end January 20.
