I hadn't mentioned it (because I am so insanely jealous), but last Friday was Mutant Enemy Strike Day at Fox Studios. [livejournal.com profile] electrcspacegrl is one lucky person from my flist who was in attendance and has been passing along the first-hand scoop on a lot of things.

Today she linked to a great video from the event that I think pretty much everyone on my flist will enjoy.

Touch Your Knee

Joss is back in form and posting on Whedonesque. Today's post is, actually, about us! Us being the enormous internet us who are massive movers and shakers and do amazing things when we are mobilized and motivated. Apparently this is inspirational and has prompted Joss and other showrunners to mobilize in a similar way and that is just a completely awesome thing.

It's not rare for me to be proud of being a Whedonite, but today, um, I'm prouder. ;)

Take a moment to be all up in yourself. Now get over yourself. Now doubt yourself. Now hug yourself. Now touch your knee – Hah! Didn’t say “Simon says”. Like, ever. FOOLS!

If you don't support the WGA Strike (really? you don't?) there is one very good thing about it: apparently not writing has turned Joss into a blogger. Okay, so "turned Joss into a blogger" is kind of my assumption, but if I were used to being a working writer and suddenly had to stop, I'd go look for another outlet. And if I had legions of fans and a message board with my name literally on it? Yeah, I'd go post there too, where I could say pretty much anything and have people faint because they actually love me that much.

I'm going to go faint now.

And, as always, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] electrcspacegrl for keeping me up on the Joss posts.

Really, the love I have for Joss Whedon knows no bounds.

Joss has been actively supporting the Writer's Strike, which I wholeheartedly support, and posting various things to Whedonesque (thank you [livejournal.com profile] elecrtcspacegrl for linking to the posts). Most recently he wrote a beautiful post on writing and why it's work. If you're a writer, you should read it. If you don't understand that writing is hard, you should read it (and then identify yourself because really, what are you doing on my flist?).

So, go, read, learn something from Joss.

We’re talking about story-telling, the most basic human need. Food? That’s an animal need.
