While she hasn't been active on LJ/DW in a number of years, I wanted to make sure friends and fans knew that sorcha_gaia passed away last night. Her mother informed her friends that it happened during a medically induced coma.

I first met Sorcha in person at DragonCon 2006, where over a panel table we discovered that we both knew each other's fanfic. (The exact moment was someone asking about fanfic on Livejournal and I mentioned my username, which then prompted Sorcha to flail and identify herself, and then we were all fangirling each other.)

Sorcha worked with us on fandom_grammar. She wrote excellent Jack/Daniel fic. I wrestled her into helping me write Stargate Trivia questions. She always made me laugh. We rolled our eyes at each other, got frustrated, forgave, and then bonded again over Daniel Jackson. I will miss you, my friend.

Removed a few journals/communities in which interests seem to have parted ways or I haven't interacted with in a long time. Honestly, it was just a few people and if we've talked in the past month, you don't need to worry. (Roadie, I'm sure you're checking anyway.)

If we are parting ways at this time, I wish you the best. As always, please feel free to friend/defriend as you will.

I just did a bit of a clean up of the ol' flist, removing journals and communities that appear to be dead or where there has been very little personal interaction in the past 6 months or so. The main goal of the trim was so that I could re-focus my time and feel more organized/in control.

If we're parting ways at this juncture, I wish you the very best! (Though for some of you we communicate in other means, and I do hope you don't take the lj de-friending personally.)

Life sucks today because my friends are going to Comic Con tonight and I am not. It also sucks because lindentreeisle is at Comic Con this year and I LOVE HER AND WANT TO FINALLY MEET HER AFTER KNOWING HER FOR A GAZILLION YEARS. Blue, you are ruining my life, I hope you know that.

If anyone reads this before the con, will someone please hug Kevin for me? And possibly wave in the direction of Joss Whedon at some point? And like, will all of you hug each other for me?

Today is the celebration of my 3rd year on lj. It’s hard to believe that 3 measly years ago I still thought that blogging was the most self-important thing I’d ever heard of. “Ha ha!,” she says self-importantly.

So, I have not done anything cool like written a multi-fandom fic that sums up my life-and-times thus far on lj. (Not that I was planning to . . .) Instead, I have boring stats. Yawn.

After three years, here’s what my journal has to show for itself:

143 Interests, including such unique gems as: daniel’s jacket, dark blue bad, mcgillion hugs, sanzo’s reading glasses, and subtracting turtles from crabs

160 Friends who think I’m cool enough to grace their friends lists

104 Communities that allow me to be a member even if it’s only to post the extremely infrequent Buffy fanfic

2,038 Journal entries which averages to 1.86 journal entries per day. Heh. Not addicted.

35,495 Comments posted, most of which are probably to roadrunner1896

46,564 Comments received, most of which are probably from roadrunner1896 ;)

My Feelings Are So Mixed They Could Be A Smoothie
Apparently July is going to bring us a Special Edition of Serenity. And we’ve got the word from Joss the Boss, so I’d say it’s pretty solid. Exciting? Yes! Aggravating? Hell yes!

On one hand, I’m thrilled with the idea of getting all the Region 4 special features (which were a hell of a lot more than what we got) and the idea of the Tam Sessions and cast commentary sends my spine a tingling.

On the other hand: Why the frak didn’t they release this in the first place?! ( Rant Ahead: Whoo-whoo! (I have no idea how to phonetically type the sounds from a choo-choo train.) )

Rant over. I still love you, Joss. (Because you own my soul, you fraking genius.)
