(1) For some reason I always remember that I greatly dislike "Divide and Conquer" and assume it's entirely because of what feels (to me) like some very forced Jack/Sam-iness. And I completely forget that it is also the episode in which Martouf dies. You'd think I'd remember an event like that, and yet it surprises me every time I watch it. Weird, right?
(2) I turned my DVD back on to sit down to watch another episode and realized "Window of Opportunity" is up. I of course reacted by saying, "Woo, it's WoO!" I'd blame it on the cold medicine, only that silliness is for sure just me.

People who discover the show, especially through fandom, probably know some of the high points and tropes already. I doubt anyone is just coming to the show as a blank slate. They are going off of recs from someone.
I like Divide and Conquer, but I'm good at putting any sort of Jack/Sam that I don't agree with in the background. And I an a diehard Jack/Daniel shipper, but did not and do not hate the Jack/Sam ship as much as some of my fellow slash fans. So that's just me.
