I don't know about you, but I now want to play loud music around Nathan Fillion.

Also, I heard the "Your Mother's Lipstick" joke from him 6 years ago at DragonCon. Um, I love him.

Did you read Sam's recent post about Firefly? I find I agree with him mostly. Also, TALK ABOUT CASTLE! HE'S A WRITER AND A CAD. IT'S AWESOME. I need to pay for my icons again so I can get some Nathan icons.

I don't blame people for not likely Firefly. I think it's a little odd since I love pretty much every second—but I didn't when I first watched it. I really didn't give a crap about Firefly when it aired (even though I watched and recorded every episode). It wasn't until I rewatched the DVDs that I fell in love.

BESIDES, TALK ABOUT CASTLE. OMG. THAT SHOW. ♥ I love Castle so freaking much. And I love Nathan. MY GOD. THAT MAN OOZES CHARISMA.

There's just a... tendency towards evangelism in FF fans, I've found. Say the show doesn't interest you, you get told no no, you really need to at least try it. Say you tried it when it was first on and it just bored you, they say no no Fox messed it up so you have to watch the movie. Say you did try the movie -- twice, because you really wanted to give it a fair shake for your friend's sake -- but it still really bored you, and they look at you like you've got two heads and then it's back to SHUN THE NONBELIEVER. It really comes off as a show you're not allowed to not be interested in or not like if you're already in fandom. ~~same with dr horrible~~ I may be more sensitive to this, though, as my folks tend to push push PUSH movies and such they think I'll like, even if I have no interest.

I agree that, if you watched it first on Fox, to try watching the show in the correct order, but I would never, NEVER recommend the movie as first viewing. I enjoyed the movie, but it's definitely not my favorite part of the series.

For you... I'd start with one of the funnier episodes like Jaynestown or Shindig. (Dunno if you watched those.) I firmly believe that some series need to be tailored to the viewer to first catch their interest. I mean, once you're invested, you'll watch even crap episodes, you know?
