Reading 50 books in 2007 was, um, not so much of a success. I mean, yes, I did get through 40 (actually 41 since I only have about 5 pages left in Death Note Vol 5 and will count it towards the 2007 list), but of those 40 books only 7 were actual books. So, 33 of those books were manga or graphic novels. And those 7 novels I read? All Harry Potter. I feel kind of lame. And by "kind of" I actually mean "a lot."
I'm once again shooting for the 50 books, but this year I'm adding one stipulation: I have to read at least 12 books that do not contain pictures and are not fandom-related.
Yay for promotion of literacy!

But apparently I'm very good at finish manga. Probably helps that I can read one in about two hours, and that's while stopping to admire the pretty artwork.
One thing I find myself doing, though, is reading lots and lots of fic because it's easier to do that while I'm doing something else. If I ever have a computer mounted in my kitchen, I'll be sunk. :-) I'll be able to read fic while stirring alfredo sauce and stuff. :-)
L is great, too. :D He's a perfect counterpart.
I've watched the whole series, now. I watched it all in subbed. Just finished last night.
Have you seen it all? Just watching Adult Swim? Where are you in it?
Yes, you need an icon! :D I've only found one I really like so far but now that I've seen it all and know who I'm looking at as far as characters, I can pick more!
I'm trying to lay hands on Looking for Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines to begin my not-fandom reading.
Also, it is Happy Potter.
*sings* I need Harry Potter like a Grindylow needs water . . .
I feel ill just reading that sentence.
Let me know if they're any good. If you ever find them. Both of the non-fandom books that I read last year, Full Frontal Feminism and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, were really good. You should read them. Heck if Sara ever brings them back you can borrow them.
Well yes it is. But that's normally implied in Harry Potter and doesn't need to be spelled out.
You're a geek. I &hearts you.

That will make more sense as you watch more BH2.
KL is liking Looking for Alaska and I liked the summaries of both books. I'm going to order them this afternoon since I can't find them. ARGH.
Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim . . . Heck if Sara ever brings [it] back you can borrow [it].
Uh, do you not know about my obsession with David Sedaris? Yes, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim is awesome and something I read in 2006. If you liked that, you should read Me Talk Pretty One Day, which I like even more.
I ♥ you too.
Well then you will have to let me borrow them after you've read them. Which means you will actually have to read them.
Apparently not. And I've actually been trying to get my hands on it but I can't find a cheap copy anywhere. I might have to resort to the library.
Awe! She loves me. :P
I'm thoroughly amused by this! *g*
