Episode 1.13 “The Nox”
Planetary Tally: SG-5 goes to P3C117; Sam claims that at this point the SGC has visited 19 separate worlds (note: this number seems low and could be because of the confused episode order; 16 planets have been mentioned on the show); SG-1 goes to the “uninhabited” planet Teal’c suggests has the invisible creature
Season/Series Total: 13
Episodic References: “Children of the Gods”--Sha're and Skaara’s abductions are mentioned
Quote(s) of the Week:
Sam (upon waking up to Daniel touching her): Hey, what are you looking at?

Daniel “accidentally” cops a feel.
Daniel: I felt that blast kill me. I mean, I thought that I--we were dead. Weren’t we dead?
Sam: Yeah.
Daniel: Okay, well I thought heaven would be a little more upscale.
Jack (to Sam, of Nafrayu): No, you can’t keep him.
Daniel (of Shak'l (though it's funny to read it with the previous quote in mind)): And we can’t kill him either. (everyone looks at him) I wasn’t considering it; I was just stating the fact.
Opher: Knowledge takes time and over the years, we teach the young to be wise.
Anteaus: The very young do not always do what they are told.
Jack: So Shak’l thinks we’re unarmed. Apophis thinks he’s invulnerable.
Daniel: And they’re right. I think I found the flaw in your plan.
Apophis: Fool, I will kill you.
Jack: Again?

What’s the Daniel of it?: On planet, Daniel traipses off with Jack, hunting for both the Stargate and the invisible creature. Once they see Apophsis, Daniel’s focus shifts to a rescue of Sha’re and Skaara. Daniel plans for them to tranq. SG-1 is taken by the Nox, and Daniel is the first to wake up in the Nox hut. As usual Daniel makes the initial introductions and attempts at communication. When it is clear to SG-1 that the Nox are defenseless and not going to return their ordinance, Daniel helps Jack make bows and arrows. Daniel tries get information about how the Nox heal and instead learns that Opher is 432 years old and gets a Yoda-style lesson.

For some reason this picture is really hot.
It may have to do with the Daniel-chestage.

Comments
Need more fun facts.
Need them now!
Eek! After this week I'll hopefully be caught up with real life (and other community) stuff and will be able to get ahead in Fun Facts. If possible, I'll try to post an extra one at some point.
Just for you. ;)
Fun Facts rule, you rock.
::snort:: But Snyder's never been on Stargate! ;)
I actually had a few more Snyder jokes, but I pulled them because they were getting boring. Also I didn't post this picture:
because I forgot to put a big black x across his face. I was tired yesterday.
And I know that he wasn't on Stargate, that's why I was expecting it striked, but it was a big 'Hello' moment for me to see him there. Once my brain figured out, who the person under the wig was.
Well, then. I suppose that's fitting.
And I know that he wasn't on Stargate, that's why I was expecting it striked, but it was a big 'Hello' moment for me to see him there. Once my brain figured out, who the person under the wig was.
Yes, this was my reaction. "Snyder! But you were eaten by a giant snake."
Also, I already knew he was in the episode because Nick told me.
Let me tell you, watching an episode for Fun Facts totally changes the experience. Also it feels like you watched it about 3 times because you keep replaying scenes to--
1. Get that quote word for word.
2. Check to see if Daniel really wasn't wearing his glasses or if that was just the light.
3. Hit yourself because you were distracted by the pretty archeologist.
4. Check to see if Jack was actually "putzing" with something or if that was normal behavior.
5. Gape because you can't believe that General Hammond still has not said "Good luck, SG-1." (I'm thinking about retiring that category.)
For the later series you should add some shipper catagories:
Cue Shippy Music (no. of times that Sam/Jack music appears)
Times when Jack or Sam call each other by their first name (its worth noteing and is intresting to see how in the earlier seasons it was a lot more common)
::snort:: Yeah. I'm leaving it in until the end of Season 1. Then I'll reevaluate. I also haven't had any jello moments yet, but I know those are coming and I do have this thing with jello.
Cue Shippy Music (no. of times that Sam/Jack music appears)
Eek. I'm so bad at noticing background music. I could never do this category.
Times when Jack or Sam call each other by their first name (its worth noteing and is intresting to see how in the earlier seasons it was a lot more common)
I was thinking about this I as watched "Singularity" over the weekend. While I think it would be fun to add-- 1. I'm too lazy to go back through the others. 2. I really have enough to keep track of as is.
Heck, I'm going to go ahead and reveal the categories that will be added later--
Zatted. An ongoing tally of the number of times SG-1 is hit by a zat.
Also, I'll have a category for Jonas (still trying to determine exactly what it will be but right now it's tentatively titled "Know-It-All")
And "Daniel's Dead" will be changing (when it is appropriate) to a tally that notes the times he returns, even when he's in the "previously on" parts.
But I will continue to make little extra notes and things about how very slashy something was, or how Sam wants to have Jack's babies, and other forms of irreverance. Really, the serious episodes (like "Bloodlines") make for some crappy Fun Facts. I just couldn't bring myself to make fun of it too much. God. I'm going to have nothing to say when I get to "Meridian." ;P
Hell yeh you need jello moments! Also maybe you should note when Sam gets a new haircut - thats what my mum always does
Eek. I'm so bad at noticing background music. I could never do this category
I never notice any other, but the moment i hear that music my shippy ears prick up coz its always the same theme tune... *cough*and-its-my-ringtone*cough*. Its most obvious is Divide and Conquer but its also in POV, Grace... Lost City? Erm... Beneath the Surface
God. I'm going to have nothing to say when I get to "Meridian." ;P
Hmmm... you could write 'JONAS SQUEE' just coz he's cute lol, also its not as sad now we know daniel comes back
I will probably note every time Sam needs a brush. What the hell was up with her hair in "Small Victories," eh?
my shippy ears prick up coz its always the same theme tune... *cough*and-its-my-ringtone*cough*.
LOL! I have the Angel theme on my phone. I really want the Buffy/Angel love theme...
Its most obvious is Divide and Conquer but its also in POV, Grace... Lost City? Erm... Beneath the Surface
I'll have to watch one of those tonight and listen.
its not as sad now we know daniel comes back
Yeah, but I knew he was coming back and I still cried. Of course I am the girl who cried (we're talking heaving sobs here) during the entire series finale of Angel. I'm really not that much of a crier, but when my shows get hit-- ::chokes up::
;)
Yeh thats a good point, all the way through Grace my mum was like 'she's looks awful, like she's been dragged through a hedge backwards... brush your hair woman' I don't think she realised she was supposed to look awful
I'll have to watch one of those tonight and listen.
The bit where they're either side of the force field in d&c is the most noticable bit... *sigh*
Yeah, but I knew he was coming back and I still cried. Of course I am the girl who cried (we're talking heaving sobs here) during the entire series finale of Angel. I'm really not that much of a crier, but when my shows get hit-- ::chokes up::
I didn't know he was coming back the first time i watched it so i cried, but i watched it with my friends a few times and we've all cried. I also cried in Grace in the bit with her Dada and in Heroes2, when Sam started crying it just set me off. As for Buffy... hmmm i think the main time i cried was when she had to kill Angel (my mum was bawling), and probabley some other random sad bit. And in Angel when Fred died and when Doyle died... aww i loved doyle
LOL! Y'know, there's looking bad and then there's looking bad. Sometimes Sam looks bad.
The bit where they're either side of the force field in d&c is the most noticable
OH! Now I know what music you're talking about. Yeah. It's pretty. And sad, actually. It's very beautiful.
I also cried in Grace in the bit with her Dada and in Heroes2, when Sam started crying it just set me off.
Characters crying makes me cry. Most notable is when Buffy starts to cry when she confesses to Tara that she's been sleeping with Spike. It's not a sad moment, but seeing her cry makes me cry.
As for Buffy... hmmm i think the main time i cried was when she had to kill Angel (my mum was bawling), and probabley some other random sad bit.
I cry every time I watch "The Prom." When Buffy gets the Class Protector award. She got her perfect high school moment and I never got one! :( ::sniffle:: I also cry during "The Gift." Not when Buffy dies--no, when Spike cries. Gah!
And in Angel when Fred died and when Doyle died... aww i loved doyle
I didn't cry over Doyle. I didn't love him until "Hero." But Fred? BUCKETS 'O TEARS! Even more so when Wesley--::chokes::
lol i know, like in season 4 her hair starts to get a bit... long and weird. tho it looks cute under a hat. Her hair was ok most of season 7 and it's looking nice for season 8, didn't like it when she had it cut real short in Beneath the Surface... damn we're picky
OH! Now I know what music you're talking about. Yeah. It's pretty. And sad, actually. It's very beautiful.
I can always hear shippy bits coming coz u here the faint sound of the music as it builds up, just thought of another time it appears, in Heroes when they hug. Though once i noticed it appear randomly when it was two characters like jack and teal'c - i was most confused
I didn't cry over Doyle. I didn't love him until "Hero." But Fred? BUCKETS 'O TEARS! Even more so when Wesley--::chokes::
I didn't cry much over Wesley... i have no idea why lol coz i love him
Heh heh... okay, I've got a new category that I'm adding to Fun Facts: "Dig the Do" Just a nice little check on Sam's hair. ;) Or do you have another title to suggest for it?
Though once i noticed it appear randomly when it was two characters like jack and teal'c - i was most confused
That's must be the Sekrit OTP--Jack and Teal'c! ;) I'll have to listen for it to see if it happens in any Jack/Daniel scenes. ;)
I didn't cry much over Wesley... i have no idea why lol coz i love him
Nick kept looking at me like I was crazy. I had actually accidently read a spoiler, so I knew it was going to happen. I think it made it a little bit easier, but it was still melt down time. ::sniffle::
I'm glad you went with Men in Tights. Much better choice, in my opinion.
In this picture, Daniel greatly resembles Luke Skywalker. This is scary.
Oh my god, you're right. No wonder you like him so much.
By the way, the guy who plays Gawain in King Arthur played Owen Lars in Episode 2. ...there really was a train of thought to get to that statement, I just don't feel like mapping it out entirely.
Also, I'm planning on writing another "When Fandoms..." today. I'm going to suggest not reading it while ingesting liquids or surrounded by co-workers having a serious discussion, because it might be funny. I'll reiterate this warning when I post it, since apparently you need lots of warning. :op
I agree. Though I think I could have selected a better quote/picture match. I was just too tired.
Oh my god, you're right. No wonder you like him so much.
Nanci is in love with Luke, not me. And it's scary. There are other caps where he looks like Luke, though (all from that episode). It's freaky.
By the way, the guy who plays Gawain in King Arthur played Owen Lars in Episode 2.
that was random.
I'll reiterate this warning when I post it, since apparently you need lots of warning. :op
Thank you. Have you considered writing a "When Fandoms..." for Atlantis?
I think it worked very well.
Nanci is in love with Luke, not me. And it's scary. There are other caps where he looks like Luke, though (all from that episode). It's freaky.
yes, but you love star wars, in general.
that was random.
We were talking about Star Wars, I'm rather obsessed with King Arthur, Joel Edgerton was in both. It's not that random.
Thank you. Have you considered writing a "When Fandoms..." for Atlantis?
I might. I'm having trouble right now getting into writing my King Arthur one. bah.
Yes. But I love Daniel for different reasons.
For Atlantis I have two thoughts (possibly more)--
1. Scottish Sterotypes (think Star Trek)
2. Mary Sue Mania
3. How This Show Would Be Better With Daniel
4. "Chosen One" jokes (The Matrix, Buffy, Star Wars)
4 is more than 2. ::headdesk::
Heh, not just Scottish stereotypes, but there's a whole lot of Star Trek Voyager that could be crossed over. Speaking of which, actually this is speaking of DS9, Dr. Bashir is in the new series of Battlestar Gallactica. We're going to have to watch that.
2. Mary Sue Mania
This is a possibility. However, I am expecting his Mary Shepherdness to wear off as the season progresses.
3. How This Show Would Be Better With Daniel
HEH. I definitely think you'd have to write this part, being the expert and all.
4. "Chosen One" jokes (The Matrix, Buffy, Star Wars)
Oh that's a good one.
4 is more than 2.
Alli, I really think the math department is the right place for you. *pats*
1. I'm glad I'm not living with Christie.
2. Are you saying I'm moving in with another Bashir freak?
3. How This Show Would Be Better With Daniel
HEH. I definitely think you'd have to write this part, being the expert and all.
Well, I could be a contributor. ;)
Alli, I really think the math department is the right place for you. *pats*
I was actually making fun of the way we want kids to use language. "4 is 2 more than 2" eventually gets them to be able to say "2 plus 2 equals 4."
Well, I could be a contributor.
Okay. we'll have to put a little post-script or something.
So you're making fun of little kids? You are evil. ;)
Duh.
Damnit! I need an evil icon! LOOOOOORNYYYY!
I know. But I now have this one.
and Lorny is supposed to make me an evil icon. I requested it.
Personally, I like the flying monkeys.
I ran into her this morning. I told her that you and I are going out tomorrow and she needs to tell us by then. She seemed a little calmer, but I get the impression it'll be just us. I'll try to call or physically harass her tomorrow morning.
Yeah, that's the vibe I'm getting. Which is fine, if that's what she feels is best. I just wish she'd say something to me.
Icon sharable?
(Website: Oomph!)
Just curious but did Teal'c die as well? cause he ain't mentioned...
I'm such a loser.;)
