Daniel Obsession:
What’s the Daniel of it?: After arriving on the planet, Daniel gets to deliver a baby--his second, apparently. His efforts are rewarded by having the baby named after him and Jack saying that he is amazed by Daniel’s many talents (as we all are, rowr). Seeing the rich Grecian culture, Daniel drools at the thought that the place must be loaded with artifacts. He is eventually ordered to check out the temple to figure out what makes the Argosians (and Jack) pass out every night. Thanks to Teal’c’s help, Daniel determines that the Argosians are aging faster due to some kind of virus.

Translation Time/Artifact Alley: Daniel notes that the statue may be early Greek, but he doesn’t recognize the god-form (the god is later identified as Pelops). Daniel and Teal’c translate that Pelops shortened the human life span to 1/250 of its normal length to study evolution.
