Episode 1.01-1.02 "Children of the Gods"

Planetary Tally: 2--they return to Abydos and then head to Chulak
Season/Series Total: 2

Episodic References: references to the movie, including a summary—the first mission to Abydos, killing Ra, Daniel’s marriage to Sha’re, Skaara, Charlie’s death

Quote of the Week:
Jack: If Daniel’s still around he’ll know what the message means.
Samuels: What if the aliens get it?
Jack: Well, they could be blowing their noses right now.

Introducing: Apophis, Teal’c, "Kree," General Hammond, Major Samuels, Chevron Guy, Captain Samantha Carter, the DHD, the iris, GDOs, "Chaapa'ai," the SGC (comprised of 9 teams), Chulak, Amonet, Jaffa, Goa’uld*
*Col. Jack O’Neill, Dr. Daniel Jackson, Skaara, Sha’re, Karsuf, Kawalsky, Ferretti, Abydos, staff weapons, hand devices, ring transports, the sarcophagus and the Stargate are all introduced in the movie.

Hello, Again: Skaara, Sha’re, Kawalsky, and Ferriti are all recurring characters as they appeared in the movie.

Stargate Mythos: the hand device can be used to "sedate" a human; burying a ‘Gate prevents anyone from coming through; the Abydos Cartouche, the Stargate goes to other planets; the Goa’uld are snake-like parasites that choose their hosts; Jack, Sam, and Daniel are assigned to SG-1; the Goa’uld claim that nothing of the host remains after blending; Jaffa are established as the army of the Goa’uld and "incubators"; the infant Goa’uld inside Jaffa grant perfect health and long life

Fashion Week: Uniforms: Sam and Jack don their dress uniforms. The SG team dresses in desert garb (complete with flak helmets) for the return to Abydos and the green suits, flak jackets, and flak helmets for Chulak.
Notable Civis: Jack wears a black leather jacket--guh. Daniel wears tan slacks, a green shirt, and a brown jacket--double guh. Teal’c, of course, wears his serpent guard armor.

Auto Destruct:

Full Body Exam:

Laid Up:
Ferretti, though not part of SG-1, is infirmed after the mission to Abydos

Brain Washing 101:

Chain of Command:
Jack snaps at Hammond regarding his decision to send another bomb to Abydos; Jack is sarcastic when suggesting they use the ‘Gate for recon; Jack leaves the briefing after the second Abydos mission before being dismissed

Putzing with Props: Jack twirls a pen around during the first briefing. He doesn’t actually putz with this prop, but I’d just like to mention the tissue box Jack uses to contact Daniel on Abydos--it's funny.

Daniel’s Dead: 1--counts as people thought Daniel died on the first Abydos mission.
Season/Series Total: 1

Murray Alert: 1--Teal’c wears his serpent guard get-up, counting as a funny hat.
Season/Series Total: 1

Techno-Babble: Sam explains that you are cold after stepping through the ‘Gate because of the compression molecules undergo for reconstitution; Sam oohs over the energy the gate must release to create a stable wormhole; though technically not techno, Sam babbles about the DHD; Sam talks to Daniel about interstellar drift

Good Luck, SG-1:

There’s Always Room for Jello:

Stargate Scorin’:

Daniel: 1--it only seems appropriate to mention Sha’re
Season/Series Total: 1
Jack: 1--Sara (Jack’s ex-wife) is mentioned, we’ll count her here
Season/Series Total: 1

Daniel Obsession:
What’s the Daniel of it?:
Daniel’s been hanging out on Abydos for the last year (boinking Sha’re--the lucky bitch), when Jack and company shows up. Daniel geeks out about the Abydos Cartouche and then loses his wife (fangirls rejoice). Daniel finds adjusting to life back on Earth a little difficult as he has no home and no job. He eventually gains a place on SG-1 and promptly gets them captured on Chulak because he can’t help but try to communicate. Daniel has a semi-suicidal moment as he begs to become a Goa’uld host so he can be with Sha’re. After the wackiness of escape, Daniel and Jack resolve to get Sha’re and Skaara back.

Translation Time/Artifact Alley: Daniel gleefully shows Jack, Sam, and company what becomes known as the Abydos Cartouche. Daniel notes that the ‘Gate must be of religious significance to the people on Chulak. He also tries to explain a symbol on the DHD to Jack.

Caffeine Habit: Daniel has a coffee during the briefing after the second Abydos mission

Headgear:
Flak helmet: 1--he wears it to Chulak, but loses it along the way
Season/Series Total: 1

Perfect Vision: On Abydos, Daniel takes off his glass for two seconds to put on clip-on sunglasses. Daniel wipes the frost off his lenses after emerging through the ‘Gate on Chulak. Daniel isn’t wearing his glasses when he regains consciousness.

Oh, Danny Boy:

Shooting a Load:

Mop Up, Aisle 5:
7--Daniel shows up; Daniel excited about the Abydos Cartouche (particularly when he says "galaxy"--it’s terribly geeky); as Daniel explains Ra’s legend he keeps licking his lips; Daniel waves at Hammond when everyone else salutes him; Daniel wakes up without his glasses on; Daniel forced to kneel; Daniel yells "hold your fire"

Well, Sam uses the word MacGyver as a verb here. Or was that another ep? No, it's the pilot, isn't it? She says something like she'll macgyver something or other. Well, I'm just a MacGyver freak. So you don't have to count those. I don't think there was a second mentioning except in the outtakes.

I like these statistics. Good work and keep them coming.

Poor Nick. *gg*

Firstly, thank you. I'm glad at least one person has read and enjoyed my immense insanity. I had fun making it, yes, but it's more rewarding when I can share my insanity and obsession.

Secondly, Carter says they had to MacGyver a system for the DHD. And I love that outtake. I have played it for all my friends.

Thirdly, you should all pity Nick. That poor guy has to put up with so much. Of course I have to put up with his Warhammer, too, so it evens some.

Well, thank you for putting these up. They are interesting. I'll read them, as long as they are about episodes that I already watched. Then I might stop for a while but will get back to them.

And I love that outtake
I accidently downloaded it. I must have watched it a million times by now. Well, my undying love for MacGyver is, what made [livejournal.com profile] skroberts make me watch Stargate in the first place. Only that I didn't fall in love with Jack. Because they have Danny. And Danny is so much more my type.

Of course I have to put up with his Warhammer, too, so it evens some.
Do I want to know what Warhammer is, or isn't it important for anything important?

You dig geeks, too, huh? ;)

Warhammer is a minature war game. It requires hours of painting the figures and then games around 1-2 hours long. It seems very time consumming and money consumming (not to mention storage consumming). He's a good monkey about it though, and actually seems willing to discuss selling off some of his stash should the need arise.

It keeps him entertained and I can use it to counter balance my Daniel obsession, so it's cool.

I think I'd have to answer this question with a yes. I just love them brainy. They are even better, when they are dorky geeks.

Warhammer is a minature war game
Oh, a guy I went to school with bored me almost to death with talking about that stupid game at a party I think. There are big tournaments with a lot of those freaks showing up with their army and playing a whole weekend, right? I should never have played D&D with that guy. I lost a whole evening.

YES!

Nick is a big geek. Hence the marriage thing.

Yeah. Thankfully he does that maybe once a year. And he doesn't tell me every damn thing about it.

Isn't the term "chaapa'ai" used in the movie? for some reason I think it is.

of course my brain is so fuzzy from watching so much Stargate this weekend.

I asked Nick and he didn't think so. We've been watching the movie in spurts at night, so maybe we'll actually hear it.

Of course I'm using the term "watching" loosely as I spend most of that time partly passed out.
