Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? Way more. Which was fun. This was the part of my year that was about falling in love with fiction again. Fanfic is always great for reminding myself that storytelling is fun.

Story that surprised you:
Welcome to SG-1: Not my usual pairing and it's been ages since I wrote anything explicit without prompting, but this idea just popped into my head, I knew exactly where it was going and how it was structured, and so I wrote it. Whee.

Story that was most assuredly inspired by insanity:
Surveillance Note: Just Kiss Already!: This was a fun little ficlet written for sopdetly in a fit of "well I have to write something, might as well be this" and it amuses me greatly.

Welcome to SG-1: I only wrote one Explicit fic this year!

Most difficult story to write:
Ain't Nobody Gonna Take My Life: I struggled a bit with the geography of Diego's apartment and then how much should be them fighting vs talking, and how to convey that sometimes Klaus is talking to someone Diego can't see.

Also, technically it took me 10 years to write You're Not Him, but most of it was written in 2009 and I just never bothered to polish it off and finish it. UNTIL NOW.

Story you'd write differently now:
None, these are my perfect children.

Favorite story:
You Can Trade Me for an Apparition: I loved getting into Klaus's motivations for why he lives his life the way he does. I actually loved all the young!Hargreeves fics I wrote, but the Klaus one turned out the best.

Favorite character to write:
I usually prefer writing Jack to Daniel, but I was deep in Daniel's head this year. Even though he's not the POV character in Welcome to SG-1, I think his voice is spot on. (Actually Sam and Cam are pretty great in that fic, too. Ahem, I am biased.)

Favorite opening lines:
Five Times Teal'c Told Jack and Daniel They Were Dating: Jack couldn't remember what had started the heated argument—whether it was "regardless" or "irregardless," who took the last packet of sweetener, if the mission had gone south when it started raining buckets or right when they'd stepped through the 'gate—but all over-the-top bickering stopped the moment Teal'c commented: "You squabble as though you are mated."

Favorite closing lines:
Ain't Nobody Gonna Take My Life: Finally Klaus snuggled under the covers, his hands tucked under his chin. “Gute nacht, bruder.”

Diego hesitated a moment before muttering, “Buenas noches.” He watched Klaus close his eyes, and then scooted closer, just in case Klaus needed him.
