PLEDGING IS NOW OPEN!
Pledging for [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout 2013 is open until January 20. This will very likely be the last year. GYWO has been a boost to my productivity and motivation for the last four years, but as a moderator it's also been considerably time-consuming and exhausting. If you've ever been tempted by the challenge, now is the year to sign up!

Click on the banner or go straight to the link below for Pledges & Requirements and check out what GYWO is all about. I hope you'll be writing with me in 2013!

hmmm.... I'm thinking about joining, assuming professional blog posts count.

I want to challenge myself to blog more than the once-a-week I maintained in 2012, and it looks like I'm going to start a local pet blog. If I can manage to find a decent part time job I would like to start a 3rd blog. (Yes, 3 blogs- I am crazy, thank you!) I also want to challenge myself to do more guest posts, as well as submit to some publications.

Thoughts? Encouragement? Support?

Basically we let people count any words that aren't assigned to them and aren't a diary. So, if you have to write a report at work or a term paper for class or a basic this-is-today lj entry, we don't want people counting those words; but any kind of professional writing (fiction, blogging, essay writing, whatever), that counts.

So all your crazy blogging would count. And judging from how long I've seen your previous posts, and what you're talking about for the future, I think you could hit 150K in a year (or come really close to it depending on how much you draft and branch out).

"Enough" is determined by yourself. There's no prize for making the goal; no punishment. The entire benefit is having the motivation to write within a group, and maybe produce something you're proud of doing.

We don't approve memberships until Dec 31 (because we're still finishing 2012) and then we spend the next few days posting all of the member info you'll need (including the password for the members only section of the website). Patience, my friend. ;)
