truly, seriously, dried pasta doesn't go bad. it might go slightly less tasty after, say, a couple years -- but it will (almost, with the exception of specific and creative extenuating circumstances) never go bad, like, as to make you sick. it doesn't have it in it, chemically (foodinally) speaking.
I'm with meletor_et_al. It wouldn't occur to me to actually check the pasta for a use by date...

Because I don't think it says what I mean: The pasta's natural lifespan is longer than mine. (Assuming, of course, that I didn't eat the pasta. *g*) But yeah, I'm pretty sure that I'd grow old and die before the pasta was unfit for consumption!
the real question (for me) is; is there sauce for this pasta? if there isn't, i'm going to die of hunger. because i need sauce for my pasta, preferably tomato.
