I can certainly see that as a reason not to join. And I think some people expect us to rely heavily on members making posts about their progress, however, the only membership requirement is that you check in with your YTD word count total once a month during the check-in. Check-ins can be excused in advance, and missing an occasional check-in isn't a problem. If you miss 3 in a row, you'll be removed from the community for the year, but there are no other penalties. We make it as easy as possible to check-in—same time every month, and the posts are tagged so they can be tracked—so if hearing that makes it sound more doable, I hope you'll sign up!
