Deathly Hallows Discussion

I didn't really post any reactions to Deathly Hallows after reading it and for that I'm sorry because I've have many things to say about this book. So many things, in fact, that I've talked about this book every spare minute I've had a Harry Potter-friendly ear to unload on. And now you all get to hear it!

When I finished reading books 1–6, [livejournal.com profile] dragonbetween and I had many detailed and fascinating conversations about the books and our speculation for book 7. These were easily some of the most fun lj conversations I've had. (They got a little silly, if you can't imagine.) And when [livejournal.com profile] dragonbetween and I were harassing [livejournal.com profile] honkie_mcgee with bizarre commentary on Deathly Hallows including discussing all the "camping," "gardening," and "synchronized swimming", it made me want to discuss Deathly Hallows in detail with [livejournal.com profile] dragonbetween. So, we're both doing a reread and will be posting chaphttp://www.livejournal.com/update.bmlter reactions in our journals. We'll take turns posting reactions so the chapter discussions will be passed between our journals, but we'll always try to link back to the previous part so everyone can follow along (should you choose).

[livejournal.com profile] dragonbetween started last night, so if you want to weigh in:
Chapter One: The Dark Lord Ascending OR In Which There Are Peacocks.
WARNING: May be spoilers beyond Chapter 1

*giggles* You want the even chapters? Though I'll probably just continue to post all my thoughts to my journal as well....

And I think it's funny you should mention our Deathly Hallows speculations because I was rereading some of those conversations last night and and found it quite funny how very far off the mark we were on somethings. (I blame JKR for us being wrong of course because they were all things that were likely to happen so clearly she just wrote the book wrong.) If I can find the time I think I'll make a post with all our pre-reading thoughts, probably with commentary in regards to what really happened, so that we can add those to our discussion of Book 7.

That works for me. You can jump ahead if you want and I'll just post in there when I get there.

Oh I will definitely talk in any post that you make. Actually having both of us making posts for all the chapters would probably bring up more points for discussion as well.

I think the "prediction" that had me the most excited was when Romulus showed up. We'd been so wrong about everything else that I was just ecstatic to be right about something! :P

I like it when you digress into fanfic. Besides sometimes fanon is practically canon.

I've been have trouble keeping track of all the threads that are going in the three posts that I already have up! So many people with so many things to say.

Yes he does.

Fic is awesome and talking about fic with you is awesome too.

I have a bit easier time of it, I think, because they're all flooding my inbox. Of course that also makes for a messy inbox. As for linking you to any interesting threads... I think most of them are interesting.

*glee* I can't wait to see it! Soon? ish?

But... But... FIC!

Yes. Yes I do.

(My Fred is in Slytherin.)

Because you had red and yellow yarn? (Or maybe Fred is not a Slytherin but I am and those I forced her to pose next to my house banner.) Clearly Fred and I want every type of Hogwarts scarf available. Clearly.
