Ra with an Ancient Tablet?

Friends, I'm watching "Full Circle" and I have a question for you: What was Ra doing with an Ancient tablet?

Actually I have another question: Are there any fics that explore this? Because this? This is VERY INTERESTING. Ra gets largely glossed over since he died in the movie, so the idea that he might have been researching Ancients—or even knew enough to look for Atlantis—is very interesting. Also, that sheds some new thoughts on what other adventures the Moebius SG-1 team might have been having in Ancient Egypt (because that is still a thing I think about a lot actually).

So, anyway, thoughts about this? Fics about this? We must discuss.

That's a good question and not one I've ever really thought about before. I don't remember, do we know how Anubis's timeline fits in here? Maybe Ra wanted some of that ascended action, too, and was researching the Ancients for clues on how to do it. Or yes, maybe he'd heard rumors about Atlantis or other Ancient cities/outposts, and was searching for weapons or knowledge that would give him an edge over the other System Lords.

I don't believe I've ever run across any fics exploring what Ra was up to back in the day, but I'd also be interested to know if there are any!

Ra was the most invested in Earth, so it seems like he might know Tau'ri bits that the rest of the goa'uld didn't. And perhaps once he had the tablet he didn't care about being overthrown on Earth because he knew the Lost City wasn't there any more? (I'm sort of assuming the tablet was originally on Earth because—and this is where my lack of SGA knowledge comes in—I think Atlantis was originally on Earth and left from there, so it makes sense they'd leave a tablet there.)

I like the idea that Ra was researching for ways to ascend. I don't think there's any canon evidence, but if Ra was supposed to be so powerful, it makes sense that at some point he was on the same level as Anubis. (Anubis's history is basically that hundreds of unspecific years ago he "died" and just now has resurfaced.)

I really want to know if there are fics on this topic!

I, too, think Ra deserves more attention than he gets. He was Supreme System Lord for FIVE MiLLENIA and it's quite arguable that it's his death that shakes up the status quo of the galaxy, because yeah, the Tau'ri are annoying that way. :) The Tok'ra literally call themselves Tok Ra for a reason, and it's not just because their ultimate ancestress originally rebelled against Ra.

I like to think that the sekrit chamber was stuffed with all the things that Ra never quite figured out, including, yes, Ancient stuff. Why not? Anubis had been kicked out of the System Lord Kool Kids Klub (tm) and Ra had surely helped himself to leftover bits and bobs.

I think Aurora Novarum might have touched upon this idea in one of her fics. I know Nightspear does in her marvelous Daniel of Abydos series, but if you start with that I hope you have a very large block of time available. :)
