You know, I went searching for this post, 'cause imthelobster told me I should read it, but I didn't find it. I guess I just didn't go back far enough. :P Plus I was apparently using the wrong tag to look, because I didn't realize you had a "sg-1:episode review" tag.
Anyway.
I actually did like the episode, and I liked the Daniel/Vala, though obviously it really, really could have been done better. Actually, I guess a better way to put it is that I like the Daniel/Vala in theory. Or something. It just could have taken more time, even in one episode, like you pointed out.
But really my problem with the episode can be boiled down very simply: I liked it as an episode; I did not like it as an end to the series. ::shrugs::
More importantly! I have now seen all ten seasons and The Ark of Truth. I can read fic! I can search for icons! I can READ YOUR POSTS! I can re-watch all my favorite episodes over and over again!
