What happened to Jack is also awful but I also feel like he was able to bounce back from that faster. The physical damage is completely healed by the end of the episode, he was drugged when it happened, and I think every time he feels bad about it, he has to remind himself that he would have been like Teal'c and Teal'c isn't bad and just... there's something positive he can latch on to if needed.
But Daniel? There's just nothing. Not only was agency stolen from him, but he was used to make more Goa'uld. I'm glad we have the moment in "Bloodlines" before this because it firmly establishes how Daniel feels about the Goa'uld, but it also means he would be furious and devastated by what happens to him here. (Also, I don't want "Bloodlines" seen as "revenge" for this moment—they're separate feelings, and I wouldn't want them to be conflated for the viewer.)
ARGH. I don't understand why they didn't go into Daniel's Emotional Trauma for several episodes, but the "Ew" from Jack makes me so angry.
(It makes me so angry, I had to go find and upload this icon because it was the visual I got.)
Also, this is why I talked about fandom instead of the episode.
