Here's a few more newly archived fics. As before ALL fics have been polished. (This batch didn't make me cringe, so I haven't completely re-written huge swaths of them.)

Stargate: SG-1
This Empty Apartment, NC-17, Daniel/Vala, Season 9, "Beachhead" tag, angst, grief, sex (4,900 words)
this is angstier and sexier than I remembered

There’s No Such Thing as a Brontosaurus, PG-13, Jack/Daniel, season 7, adventure, cluelessness, Smart!Jack, Grumpy!Daniel, humor (9,400 words)
I mostly remember the dinosaurs, but there’s A+ character work here—written for J/D Ficathon 2009

★ There’s No Place Like Home, PG-13, Jack/Daniel, Sam, Teal’c, 5 Things, AU, humor, meta, crack (430 words)
these are brief, but pretty funny, and one inspired a fusion!

SG-1/Firefly Fusion
Just a Whore, NC-17, Jack/Daniel, smut, bittersweet ending (730 words)
I still really like this fusion universe

★ Good Tea, NC-17, Jack/Daniel, smut, frottage, tea (720 words)
whenever I think of this series, I think of this fic

Saiyuki
Something Like Sharing, NC-17, Hakkai/Sanzo, sharing a bed, seduction, frottage (2,800 words)
I’m mildly impressed by how much character history I shoved into a sex scene

Hmm, I was trying to decide something to write this evening....

(One of the most fun parts of this archive project is "discovering" all this fic I wrote. Also, WOW I WROTE A LOT OF SMUT.)

As I was lying in bed I was trying to figure out where I would slot in the other SG1 characters on Jack's crew. It was a strange and hilarious and ultimately futile exercise in character mapping.

Thankfully I had already worked this out, so I was able to return to my notes and go, HUH.

So, Jack is Mal and Daniel is Inara, obviously.

Teal'c is Book and Sam is Zoe, since they don't really have a scientist, I went more for the military personality.

Mitchell is Wash, which is not to get Sam/Cam but because he's actually a pilot and I think the humor matches fairly well. (Sam/Cam is just a bonus.)

Vala is Jayne, which I read and laughed so long that, yeah, sure, I'll keep it.

Jonas is Kaylee because of the shared sunny personalities, but I think he'd handle being a mechanic just fine.

So, Simon and River were a tougher casting and I finally settled on Skaara and Sha're. So, we have being a former host standing in for the experiments Blue Sun did on River.

I'm not sure how much I'll write in this verse, or how much of the crew we might see (Mitchell is in the bit I wrote over the weekend), but at least I have a cast list to fall back on.

I see Jaffa translating pretty well to Shepard. It's more of his Season 5-7 characterization, I think, but slightly stoic with depth and wisdom? Totally Teal'c and Book. Also Book is good at shooting kneecaps.

It really works for me.

I love Vala as Jayne, too. So hilarious.

I kept thinking about slotting Janet in for Simon, but like you I had trouble with where Sam best fit. She's not really a Zoe type character, and she's not carefree enough to work as Kaylee.

It's a fascinating exercise.

Yeah Janet as Simon is the obvious one, but then I think you potentially lose the relationship between Simon and River. And I would like to see a world that gets to explore Skaara and Sha're being reunited.

PS This fic I'm drafting grew to over 1,000 words and I'm like, "No, of course you can't write short any more. Naturally!"
